Big in personality and slight in stature, Sharon Romeo’s reputation for exceptional service precedes her.
Winner of the 2016 Savour magazine and 2016 South Australian Restaurant and Catering Awards title for top maitre d’, Sharon has created a new standard for restaurant management and regional hospitality.
Together with head chef David Swain, Sharon was one of the driving forces behind the iconic regional restaurant FINO at Willunga. Known for fresh, creative and local dishes and outstanding service, FINO was recognised nationally as a shining star of the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Then in 2014 Sharon and David decided to embrace a tree-change, taking FINO from south to north and settling at the redeveloped Seppeltsfield, an historical hallmark of the Barossa.
Unwavering in their approach to surprising diners with a provocative winelist, a commitment to seasonality and always extending a warm, welcoming spirit, the transfer has proven to be a winning choice for the dynamic pair.
Sharon has a background in psychology and sociology – perhaps it is this insight that her to connect with FINO’s clientele. It could also be her killer instinct about how to make great coffee.
The latter certainly comes from her rich Italian heritage, a legacy that has inspired her commitment to the place that food has in culture and a love of convivial meals shared in great company.
