Ana Ros is a one-of-a-kind type of chef.
She takes a zero-kilometre approach to cooking food at her restaurant Hiša Franko in Slovenia; all of her ingredients arrive on foot from within walking distance. Ros has run the kitchen at Hiša Franko in the Slovenian countryside for 16 years, located just three kilometres from the Italian border. Here, everyone grows and cooks their own food – there isn’t even a produce store. And it’s exactly this that makes Ros stay.
Ros was named the World’s Best Female Chef for 2017 by more than 1000 international industry judges for the World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards.
