Imaginative and boundary-pushing.
Known for his imaginative and often boundary-pushing menus, Michelin-starred chef Carlo Mirarchi is the executive chef and co-owner of both Roberta’s and Blanca. Mirarchi is self-taught, honing the childhood skills he was taught by his chef father and grandfather in his rich American-Italian family culture.
Opening his first Brooklyn restaurant Roberta’s with co-owners Brandon Hoy and Chris Parachini in 2008, it quickly become the leader in the haute-Brooklyn movement. With its fresh, seasonal, and meticulously prepared food straight from the rooftop garden, that marked the beginning of the urban farming movement in New York City, Roberta’s stands out from the city crowd.
The cult following that Roberta’s brought in gave Mirarchi and his business partners the confidence to open his dazzling 12 seater restaurant Blanco, next door in 2012. With a kitchen full of accolades and his name spread across famous US publications, Blanco’s two Michelin Star’s and three-star review from Pete Wells of The New York Times in 2015 garnered Carlo Mirarchi worldwide acclaim.
