Care, curiosity, context and seasonality.
Being born and raised in the Barossa, and training as an apprentice chef under Tasting Australia Patron Maggie Beer, it’s unsurprising that Sophie Zalokar’s food philosophy is one of care, curiosity, context and seasonality.
To Zalokar, cooking is full of creative expression, and an opportunity to gather the ones you love to share moments in time over some seriously delicious food.
After travelling the globe, cooking and learning in kitchens and farms, Zalokar settled in Western Australia, before moving her family to a rural property to live out her dream of cooking in the country.
Zalokar is the co-owner of Foragers Field Kitchen and Cooking School in Pemberton and author of two books, focused on food in the Australian landscape.
