A couple walking through the vines in the clare valley

Clare Valley

Fall off the map and fall in love with the Clare Valley.

The Clare Valley is the perfect place to escape and disappear into a world of country hospitality and secluded hideaways.

The region is home to an emerging gourmet food and wine scene, with more than 30 cellar doors along a 40km corridor between Auburn and Clare.

Hire a bicycle and take on the Riesling Trail. Pack your bike’s basket full of local treats on the way through and prepare for a feast. The trail takes you directly past Mr Mick Cellar Door and Kitchen – perfect for a mid-morning brunch stop. Get off the beaten track and visit Skillogalee Wines for lunch before cruising back to town, past vineyards and bushland.

Gather your day’s fresh produce and local treat finds and cosy up for a picnic dinner under the stars.

If you're based in the city, but want to try some of the Clare Valley's best produce, head to the East End Cellars for their once-a-week wine tasting, or book in for their tasting flights which include the wine of the week matched with locally made cheese and cured meats. Explore what makes Riesling such a popular wine, with Rieslings to taste from the Clare Valley and the Adelaide Hills, along with wines from interstate and overseas.
