Stock up on fresh delights from roadside stalls along the Princes Highway, including fresh fish, oven-baked breads, honey, olive oil, beef, dairy and fruit. Pack a weekend bag full of treats and set sail on the Murray River on a houseboat and meander your way along the river for a day or two.
Stop off at Mannum and visit Heward Estate Wines, located right on the banks of the river. Bottling under the name ‘Mannum Cliffs Wines’, these guys specialise in offering something different to the usual, so prepare to be surprised and delighted. Willow Point Wines near Murray Bridge produce a range of wines but are most famous for their fortified range.
Head to Goolwa and visit the mouth of the Murray River on Lake Alexandrina. Stop in at The Steam Exchange Brewery and try out their handcrafted beers overlooking the mighty Murray.
