A Taste of the Past
Choose your own adventure at the historic Four Oaks Farm in the Adelaide Hills. Immerse yourself in a range of unique, one-off experiences offering insights into South Australia’s eating and drinking heritage.
You’ll discover food, beverage, wine and cooking options local to the area, and learn about food elements of the past. Engage with aboriginal culture and the Adelaide Hills’ farm, food and culinary history – all just a half-hour drive from the city.
On-site cooking classes for children will be run throughout the day, with guests also able to take chartered bus tours to local areas of interest. These will explore bush foods – including some linked to traditional owners the Peramangk people – and visit sites including Mount Barker summit.
Tours will also allow guests to spend time at a local winery, learn about English settler Amos William Howard and his work to introduce subterranean clover as a fodder plant, or embrace all things dairy at The Creamery at Blakiston.
This diverse day promises education and inspiration in equal measure.
