Elderton; A Vineyard to Table Experience
2.00pm - 4.00pm
Step beyond the tasting bench to discover Barossa winemaking heritage at its best.
The Elderton “A Vineyard to Table Experience” promises an afternoon shaped by the relaxed, genuine hospitality this Barossa estate is known for. Terroir-driven wines of distinction have earned Elderton its place among Australia’s elite labels. Now you’re invited to see first-hand how magic is made. Your experience begins with a stroll through the estate’s restored 1894 Command Vineyard. Here you will discover why the Barossa is home to some of the oldest vineyards in the world and what the second-generation owners of Elderton - the Ashmead family are doing to preserve the heritage of these centurion vines. Next comes a rare look inside the Elderton winery, depending on the 2020 harvest season you may well catch a glimpse of some vintage action. Bring closed-toe shoes and a curious eye: you’ll learn about the processes used to transform freshly-picked grapes into celebrated wines. From here it’s off to the award-winning Elderton Cellar Door, a beautifully restored homestead on the map as a luxury wine destination. Enjoy a tasting flight of five Elderton wines, each served with a canapé made from locally sourced produce, and revel in the art of food and wine pairing. Gaze across gardens, a swimming pool and lawn tennis court to rows of ripening grapes beyond.
