Quentin Whittle

Born in Adelaide, Quentin developed his craft in restaurants in the Barossa Valley and Adelaide.  Following his success in fine-dining cuisine, and influenced by his travels in south-east Asia, he was drawn to authentic, seasonal produce-driven cooking.

 As Head Chef of Stones Throw in Norwood, Quentin created a loyal following which earned him both local and national recognition. He was awarded a Good Food Guide chef hat in 2018, a 1 star rating in Gourmet Traveller 2017 and 2018, and Best New Restaurant in the 2017 R&CA Awards.

In August 2018 Quentin opened his own restaurant, Herringbone with friends Paul Tripodi (Stone's Throw) and Ben McLeod (Peel St). Herringbone is an unpretentious eatery, which reflects the diversity of South Australia’s seasonal produce. Quentin continues to cook with a ‘down-to-earth’ approach, which uniquely favours substance .
