Sparkling red – it’s your time to shine. This South Australian specialty returns to the spotlight as we celebrate its charms over an indulgent brunch.
A festive-season go-to, sparkling red has always had its fans. The wine survived a post-80s brush with cultural cringe and today continues to flourish, with South Australian producers and consumers particularly fond of it.
Legendary Barossa winemaker Charlie Melton who has perfected the art of making great sparkling reds over many decades and Langhorne Creek winemaker Paul Hotker will host this brunch and guide guests through a series of exceptional sparkling reds. The Bleasdale sparkling shiraz he crafts is the best-selling wine of its kind in Australia, loved for its elegance and depth of flavour.
Chefs Troy Rhoades Brown (Muse, Hunter Valley), Jacqui Challinor (Melbourne’s Nomad) and Tasting Australia festival co-director Karena Armstrong (The Salopian Inn, McLaren Vale) will prepare a four-course brunch, serving up a range of classics to complement the bubbles on offer.
