For our Storytellers Series he’ll talk all things dining – the origins of his passion for farm-fresh fare, time running celebrated guerrilla dinners and launch of the hugely successful Three Blue Ducks restaurants. Robertson is based in Byron Bay and combines time in the kitchen with work as a cookbook writer and television host. Discover how he translates fine dining techniques to pared-back perfection across Australia – and the people who have inspired him along the way alongside his two young sons.
Armstrong knows Australian restaurants. She has worked in some of the best: completing an apprenticeship at Daylesford’s Lake House, then joining Karen Martini at The Melbourne Wine Room. Atmstrong further honed her skills in Sydney at Icebergs and Billy Kwong. Then came The Salopian Inn. At once familiar and ever-changing, its menu celebrates the most local of ingredients: fruit, herbs and vegetables grown on site, with other supplies from a network of Fleurieu Peninsula farms. During this session Armstrong will delve into her most formative experiences to date, exploring the source of her enduring need to learn more, eat more and cook more with her three young sons.
