Overview

Tasting Australia patron Simon Bryant will feature in this new outback odyssey. Experience the awe-inspiring grandeur of the Flinders Ranges – and the flavours that make it such a delicious destination.

Adventure awaits: you’ll step from your flight to lunch at Flinders Food Co in Hawker. Next it’s off to Rawnsley Park Station, a celebrated property overlooking the southern side of Ikara-Wilpena Pound. Check in ahead of drinks and canapés as the sun sets across ancient landscapes. A very special dinner in the historic homestead will follow.

Bryant is among South Australia’s brightest culinary stars: a passionate advocate for the people, produce and places that set our state apart. His evening menu will be crafted to the same standard that has kept him at the forefront of modern Australian cuisine for decades. Expect an intimate one-off gathering with unprecedented access to a legend of the professional kitchen.

Retreat to Rawnsley Park’s luxury eco villa accommodation – where over-bed skylights are made for star-gazing – and wake to see sunrise from your private verandah. Enjoy a breakfast hamper in your room and a leisurely morning ahead of a drive through Brachina Gorge to lunch at the Prairie Hotel. It’s the ultimate outback pub – one where fine food and beverages are served before a backdrop of sweeping red plains.

Guests will return to Adelaide at 5pm on Sunday.

This Tasting Australia Airlines journey includes all flights (including a scenic flight over Wilpena Pound), ground transport, twin-share accommodation, and food and beverages at all meals.


Our menus utilise regional produce at the height of its season and take months of careful planning. Many of the dishes featured will not be adaptable for particular dietary requirements. Read more information here. This event can cater to vegetarian and coeliac dietary requirements, although the menu may not be designed or executed by the visiting chefs.
