Soi 38 x Porkfat: From Bangkok to Sydney to Adelaide
Sat 4th May 2024 at 12:00 PM
Two Thai chefs known for their trailblazing style are joining forces for one very special lunch. Adelaide’s Soi 38, a beacon of authentic regional cuisine, will welcome Sydney-based Porkfat chef Narin ‘Jack’ Kulasai to the pass in this new culinary collaboration.
Kulasai spent many years working alongside David Thompson at the world-class Nahm restaurant in Bangkok before a stint at Sydney’s Long Chim. He grew up in the central Thai city of Saraburi and celebrates his homeland through dishes inspired by family homes and city streets alike. Baked tiger prawns with vermicelli, and the perennially popular green curry of grilled pork jowl and lychee, are just a taste of his fare.
Sydney’s Porkfat has taken the restaurant scene by storm, securing a chef’s hat and a place on Gourmet Traveller’s list of best Australian restaurants right now. For this Tasting Australia experience Narin will prepare a special menu, joining Soi 38 executive chef Terry Intarakhamhaeng to serve the four courses.
Look for remarkable South Australian produce, and watch the chefs work in the open kitchen as they bring the bespoke menu to life. Paired drinks for each course – with an emphasis on local producers – are included. Don’t miss this rare opportunity.
- Food: four-course lunch
- Beverage: paired beverage with each course
