Angus “Gus” Love is a South Australian cook and co-owner of the Scenic Hotel, recognised for his simple produce-driven cooking and commitment to showcasing the character of regional Australia.

He began his career at the Prairie Hotel in Parachilna in 2011 before honing his craft across some of Adelaide’s most respected kitchens and food festivals. Returning to the Prairie a decade later as Head Chef and General Manager, Gus deepened his connection to the Flinders Ranges expanding on his food philosophy centred on native ingredients, wild-harvested produce and a strong sense of place.

Since October 2025, Gus has brought that ethos to the Scenic Hotel as Executive Chef and co-owner, leading a menu that underscores the pub dining experience. His approach delivers honest food grounded in fun, seasonality and storytelling, with a distinctly South Australian perspective.
