Julia Busuttil Nishimura

Julia Busuttil Nishimura is a Melbourne-based cook and author. She is the author of three best-selling cookbooks: Ostro (2017), A Year of Simple Family Food (2020) and Around the Table (2022). Busuttil Nishimura is a columnist for Good Weekend Magazine, ABC Everyday and The Design Files. 

Her work celebrates simple ingredients, seasonal produce and the joys of coming together at the table. Busuttil Nishimura’s cooking is influenced by her Maltese heritage and Japanese family, the distinctive ebb and flow of Melbourne’s seasons, and by her time spent living in Tuscany, where she learned the joys of the Italian kitchen.
