Liz Carey’s hospitality career started more than 25 years ago when she began working for her parents in their country pub. Work has taken her to all parts of the world, with time in Melbourne, London and Sydney, most notably for Christine Manfield as restaurant manager and sommelier followed by a number of years as sommelier for MoVida and then head buyer for its import division Alimentaria.
Carey’s business Vivant Selections was established in 2016 and was originally known as Wine & Food Solutions. Since that time its portfolio has grown to showcase some of the most dynamic wine producers in Europe. In 2020 the company became Vivant Selections, a name that more accurately describes the wines and makers it represents. Carey and her team import wines they enjoy drinking.
Carey is proud to work with a variety of artisans, with a high proportion being female-owned and led.
