Matt Deller MW

Matthew Deller MW is the CEO for Wirra Wirra and Ashton Hills, two of Australia’s most admired wineries. Matt was recently featured on the cover of Australia’s Wine Business Magazine, telling the story of his custodianship of Wirra Wirra one of Australia’s most iconic and historic wineries, established in 1894.

Prior to Wirra Wirra, Matt lived in New Zealand, most recently as Chief Global Sales & Marketing Director for Villa Maria and spent eight years in the USA with the iconic Robert Mondavi Winery and as Chief Operating Officer for cult Napa Valley winery TOR.

Matt passed the Master of Wine exams in 2016, is now a member of the Governance Committee for the Institute of Masters of Wine, the program committee for the MW Symposium in Adelaide 2026 and the Board of Directors for the MW Endowment Company.

He judges international wine competitions such as Decanter World Wine Awards, TEXSOM International Wine Competition and the Sydney International Top 100 Wine Awards and is a member of the judging panel for the Wine Pinnacle Awards Singapore.

He is on the faculty of Napa Valley Wine Academy and an expert speaker at international wine events such as Vinexpo Bordeaux and New York, TEXSOM in Dallas and for Michelin Guide, Napa Valley Vintners and the Institute of Masters of Wine.
