Stacey Conner hails from Invercargill, a small southland town in New Zealand. It was here she studied cookery, before joining the navy as a chef and realising there’s more to food that just ‘eating’.
Conner has spent years in Auckland working alongside some of New Zealand & Australia’s greatest chefs, learning, cooking and being inspired. In her late 20’s she started working for Sean Connolly at The Grill in Sky City Casino, a restaurant and chef that is passionate about tradition and simplistic creativity with food. The Grill was Connolly's chef hatted restaurant and love letter to New Zealand’s best meat & seafood producers.
Conner joined Connolly as Senior Sous Chef at his Adelaide restaurant in 2014, assisting in the opening of the venue. Shortly after, she moved to Dubai to assist in the opening of Sean’s @ Dubai Opera House. This is where her love for Middle Eastern cuisine began. She believes sharing tasty food with people is key to a great dining experience.
Conner now owns and cooks in her small 14-seater restaurant in Sunshine Beach (Noosa) with her partner Jade, an Adelaide girl who loves the hospitality industry and South Australian wine.
