You can view the itinerary at a glance, or read on to uncover your South Australian adventure.

FRIDAY 29 APRIL

Welcome to Adelaide! Drop your bags at your hotel and head back out to explore South Australia’s boutique capital. Iconic Rundle Mall should be one of your stops, particularly for your first Tasting Australia event: Urban Kitchen. From 12-3:15pm Rundle Mall unites the state’s finest regional producers, artisans and iconic local brands for free demonstrations and tastings under the Gawler Place Canopy.

Make your way towards Tasting Australia’s Town Square late afternoon, making sure to first stop in at the beating heart of Adelaide’s food scene: The Central Market. Taste Our Market will allow you to enjoy another free program of events and cooking demonstrations.

By now you’ll be wanting a drink. Pop into Town Square and attend East Coast VS West Coast: Demystifying the Haze. This hour-long masterclass will see you sipping from east to west coast of the United States, discovering the differences in each beer’s style.

You can then explore the line-up of Town Square vendors and grab a bite to eat before settling in for an evening of entertainment, good vibes, and more than one bar! You might even choose to complete the evening with a nightcap back in the University of Adelaide Masterclass Pavilion for World Whisky with Bill Lark.

SATURDAY 30 APRIL

Pack your bags, we’re going on a road trip. On Saturday we suggest you jump in a car and head out to one of the Nation’s premier wine regions: Clare Valley. Grape to Glass Barrel Tasting with Kirrihill Wines offers a behind-the-scenes wine tasting experience, a tour of Kirrihill’s barrel hall, and the chance to spend time in an award-winning vineyard and production winery.

You’ll then jump back in the car and begin your slow trip back, perhaps even stopping in at a few cellar doors or local galleries on your way. We suggest stopping at Alkina Wine Estate for Lost in the FoG @ Alkina. You’ll find roving tastings and blind challenges, stunning views, and a DJ spinning tunes. Plus ‘choripan’ with fresh sourdough and homemade condiments, empanadas and more will satisfy your lunching needs.

After a day of grazing, we’re sure you’ll want a sumptuous dinner. Visit Kosho Restaurant in North Adelaide for Wicks Estate’s Ikigai. Enjoy an elegant Japanese degustation featuring the freshest South Australian seafood, matched to a selection of premium cool-climate wines presented by Wicks winemaker Adam Carnaby.

As an alternative, head to Coffin Bay with Tasting Australia Airlines on Saturday for an all-inclusive, one-day escape to the source of pristine South Australian seafood. Chefs Jake Kellie, Jemma Whiteman, Tony Carroll and Peter Clarke are sure to make this year’s trip a bespoke culinary journey.

SUNDAY 1 MAY

Head for the Hills and discover what the Adelaide Hills does best: long lunching. Join the Pike and Joyce team at their gorgeous Lenswood property for a shared five-course lunch titled A Taste of the Adelaide Hills. Enjoy Adelaide Hills produce within each dish, paired with Pike and Joyce’s single estate cool-climate wines, including some previously unreleased museum vintage selections. Your hilltop location will supply panoramic 180-degree views over the Onkaparinga Valley, perfect for a relaxing Sunday session.

Once back in the CBD, you might choose to pop back into Town Square for a small bite and drink before retiring for the evening.
