Caitlin Baker is a Canberran manager and sommelier who champions industry progression, carves space to amplify women & gender diverse folks, and makes cracking wine lists. She has become known for her thoughtful approach to leadership and her commitment to fostering positive, high-performing teams.
Her career began at in coffee working for ONA and continued at Canberra institutions Bar Rochford and Pilot. In 2019 she made the move to Edinburgh at 27 Elliotts, and upon her return ran Aubergine. She is currently at the helm of Such and Such and Pilot.
In 2021 she founded Venus Vinifera, a not for profit wom*n’s education organisation. Her mission was to provide the women and gender diverse folks around her with opportunities and education that hadn’t been provided to her. She is deeply committed to shaping a more thoughtful and resilient future for hospitality. The organisation’s objective to make the hospitality community better and safer has now grown to a fully-fledged education program, Frenzy wine festival and Subject Matters hospitality symposium.
Caitlin was also a recipient of the 2025 Tranche Scholarship and 2025 SMH Good Food Guide Sommelier of the Year.
