Chia Wu, born and raised in Tainan, Taiwan, now co-owns and is the executive pastry chef at Muni in Willunga. Her culinary journey began in the night markets of Tainan, where she assisted at her family’s stall, developing an appreciation for simple, genuine flavours.
After relocating to Australia, Wu further honed her pastry-making skills. In Adelaide, at the d’Arenberg Cube Restaurant, she refined her techniques, embracing the essential precision of culinary arts. Concurrently, at Fino Vino, she learned to value the elegance of simplicity in cooking. Her experience with Asian flavours subtly influenced her culinary creations while she was working at The Little Rickshaw in Aldinga.
Wu and her partner Mug Chen were recognised as the Best New Talent at the Gourmet Traveller 2023 Restaurant Awards. While continuing her journey at Muni, Wu is also preparing to unveil a new dessert project in December 2023.
