Col, a native New Zealander, has spent the last 30 years working across the wine industry. With an honours degree in Oenology and a PhD in something to do with wine yeast, both from Adelaide University, he is well versed in specific subjects that most find mundane. Aside from frivolous academic endeavours he has worked in the Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale locally, Auckland and the Hawkes Bay across the ditch, as well as several seasons in the Willamette Valley (most certainly not across the ditch). Despite having spent a considerable amount of time in Tuscany and Piemonte, his spoken Italian has been known to bring tears to the eyes of locals.

His focus these days, along with his wife, is running their organic vineyard and winery in Clare, Adelina, a project that has gained some successes over their tenure, though none quite as spectacular as loudest car stereo (for power category) at a sound off in Auckland in the mid late 90s.
