As Executive Chef of 6 Merivale restaurants, Dan Hong has captured the attention of Sydney’s foodies and cemented his reputation as one of Sydney’s fastest rising culinary talents. As well as the Cantonese powerhouse Mr Wong, he is in charge of quirky modern Asian eating house Ms G's, chinese restaurants Queen Chow, Queen Chow manly, Japanese instition Sushi E and also the rejuvenation of Lotus Bistro, the very first place he started with Merivale. He is also a host on "the chefs line" a cooking show on Netflix.

Since opening its doors, Mr. Wong has earned a string of highly regarded awards and accolades including: ‘Best New Restaurant’ and two hats at the 2014 Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide Awards; ‘New Restaurant of the Year’ in the 2014 Australian Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide Awards, ‘Best New Restaurant’ in the 2013 Time Out Sydney Food Awards, and was included in The Australian’s Hot 50 Restaurant List and number 9 in the inaugural Australian Financial Review top 100.

Dan was also a finalist for ‘Chef of the Year’ in the 2014 Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide Awards. Dan was honoured with the prestigious Josephine Pignolet Best Young Chef Award at the 2008 SMH Good Food Guide Awards.
