Helen Masters has been the Winemaker at Ata Rangi for 20 years.
As well as crafting fine wines of consistent international acclaim, she is actively involved in the continual pursuit of excellence in the vineyards and driving Ata Rangi’s environmental management systems and organic certification.
Masters actively supports the wine community both locally and nationally as a past member of the region’s Winegrowers body and board member of the internationally acclaimed NZ Pinot Noir events.
She was also names Gourmet Traveller Wine’s 2019 New Zealand Winemaker of the Year.
Exploring and understanding the essence of place is Masters goal, and is a champion of minimal additions, natural yeast and no fining as a way to truly express the unique fingerprint of the Martinborough Terrace.
