Matilda Innes believes fiercely in two things: that the Limestone Coast is South Australia’s best undiscovered gem — and mortadella sucks.
Born and raised in Coonawarra, she was destined for wine but took the long way around. After a half-hearted crack at university, she swapped lecture halls for Melbourne’s hospitality scene. It was there, cutting her teeth at venues like Supernormal, that her passion for the industry truly took hold.
She returned home in 2017 stepping into her role at Ottelia — the family winery, restaurant and tasting room. These days she’s the “Wearer of Many Hats” (according to her email signature), working across wine, brand, events and everything in between alongside her parents and partner, all united by a shared love of the Limestone Coast.
And because she’s not already busy enough, Matilda created her own project label Taschini [tas-kini], known for its untraditional spin on Limestone Coast wines.
She’s chuffed to share her passion for the Limestone Coast at Tasting Australia in 2026.
