Sam Milne

Sam’s journey began in the heart of a winemaking family, fostering a lifelong passion that led him to earn a Bachelor of Viticulture and Oenology at the University of Adelaide. His experience spans renowned regions including Central Otago, Yarra Valley, Northern Rhone, Hunter Valley, McLaren Vale, Russian River Valley, Mornington Peninsula and Barossa Valley. Prior to the Lane, Sam was working in a senior winemaking role with Accolade Wines across a range of portfolios including Stonier in Mornington, and Tintara in McLaren Vale. 

In January 2024, Sam was appointed Head Winemaker at the Lane Vineyard in the Adelaide Hills, where his focus has been on crafting cool climate wines that speak to the site and region in which they are grown.
