Selina and her husband Andre own/run/are Bondar Wines, a family wine company making wines from the McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills. Their home is the iconic Rayner Vineyard, which lies on the border of the Blewitt Springs and Seaview sub-regions of McLaren Vale. From here - and a couple of other key sites - they aim to create wines that are bright, that show restraint, that are savoury, structured and always a little intriguing. Different.
While they are partners in life and in all aspects of the business, Selina’s the boss when it comes to Marketing, Brand and Sales. In the 10 years since Bondar was born they have grown their distribution to supply great bars, restaurants and independent bottle shops around Australia, and now also export to a number of key markets. They were named James Halliday’s Best New Winery in 2017, one of the Top 50 Young Guns of Australian Wine in 2018 and 2020, and among the top 50 Vineyards of Australia in 2021. Their focussed range of wines have achieved numerous trophy wins and 95+ point scores. And they have also managed to fit in having a few small kids somewhere in there – to maybe one day take over the reigns.
