Taras ochota was a beloved winemaker, father, husband and friend to many.
Known in his youth as the front singer and bass player of local punk band ‘Kranktus’, he forged a successful career as a winemaker before starting his own brand ‘ochota barrels’ in 2008 with wife amber.
The brand became a cult favourite around the world, known for their low intervention, early picked, edgy and ethereal wines.
With a degree in oenology, Taras often went outside the box of a convention and did things his way. As in music, in winemaking and in life, Taras was known for his generosity, wicked sense of humour and encouragement of others.
