Think Asian-inspired dishes taking nostalgic cues from country Chinese restaurants. Think theatre – together with a hearty helping of museum wines, retro tunes and tableware to match. Your finest vintage ensemble really deserves a run here too.   

Curating the evening is Cheong Liew OAM, sharing the talent that saw him revolutionise Australian hospitality during the 80s and 90s. A true culinary pioneer, he’s best known for a legendary stint at The Grange at the Hilton Adelaide, and for serving as mentor to a new generation of chefs.  

At the pass will be Benjamin Cooper and Zoe Birch, Victorian stars set to weave nostalgia into their seasonal fare.  

Birch runs eight-seat Greasy Zoe’s in the Yarra Valley town of Healesville, making every element of its offering from scratch. Hyper-local produce is her focus, guided by principles gleaned while growing up in a family of cooks.  

Cooper leads Chin Chin, where his broad global experience has redefined Southeast Asian cooking in Australia. Art, music and culture shape the restaurant’s Melbourne and Sydney outposts, all beneath a dreamy wash of neon light.  

Take your seat for a dinner party and all the vintage glamour it conjures – dishes and paired drinks just made for an occasion.
