Comfort Food Cabaret: A Mid-Century Menu
Australia’s singing cook is joining forces with Pony and Cole and Modernist Adelaide to present her multi award-winning musical food sensation.
Michelle Pearson returns to Tasting Australia with her popular fusion of live music, cooking class, dining and storytelling which is performed as the ultimate dinner and show experience. Joining inner-west institution Pony and Cole in its original 1960s café, audiences will enjoy a live band with Michelle’s hilarious and heartwarming storytelling through song and recipes that celebrate South Australian produce and nostalgic culinary classics by celebrated head chef Nicolle Hahn.
Comfort Food Cabaret has been presented at Tasting Australia as sold-out dinner events in 2018, 2019 and 2021, and performed at Copenhagen’s Michelin three-star restaurant Geranium, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Australia House and Freemasons Hall in London along with numerous food and arts festivals around Australia. Audiences have embraced Michelle’s personal tales, delicious recipes and heartfelt interpretations of pop, rock and jazz tunes.
Winner of the coveted South Australian Government’s 2019 Made in Adelaide Award and 2023 Best Food and Drink Event at the Adelaide Fringe, this immersive experience will celebrate local suppliers and classic dishes from the 50s and 60s with a 21st century twist.
Tickets includes a canapé and drink on arrival. Wines, beer and non-alcoholic options can be purchased throughout the evening. Dietary requirements can be catered for if known in advance.
