Dining Galleries - Sunday Best

Sun 12th May 2024 at 12:00 PM

Sundays call for something special. Take a minute. Treat yourself. It’s in that spirit Darren Purchese, Julia Busuttil Nishimura, Alex Crawford and Tom Robinson will gather to prepare a menu offering the best kind of culinary indulgence. Inspired savoury offerings are assured – and so too are delectable sweet treats. This Dining Gallery also happens to coincide with Mother’s Day. You know what to do.

Unforgettable desserts are a specialty for Purchese. He’s been a star of the Australian hospitality scene for decades, driven by a soul-deep love for cooking and its capacity to nurture. Appearances on The Great Australian Bake Off and MasterChef Australia have introduced new audiences to his remarkable wizardry.

It’s likely you know Busuttil Nishimura from her prolific online presence, including cult recipes that dominate food-lovers’ social feeds. Global influences guide her work, with Around the Table, her latest book, following the success of earlier works including beloved debut Ostro.

Crawford, better known as The Sugar Man, founded a hugely successful patisserie in Adelaide’s Hutt Street (the one welcoming a long line of eager customers each weekend). Along with all things pastry he’s also a chocolatier, using local produce to give his creations a South Australian touch.

Adelaide Hills vineyard The Lane is where Robinson shines. His start came in Adelaide, but it was a two-year stint in Japan that sparked a love for fine dining and a commitment to produce-driven cuisine.

Amid the bustle of our busy schedules it’s rare to really slow down. Your moment has arrived.

The sommelier for this Dining Gallery experience is Jasmin Ryan, from Press* Food & Wine.
