Town Square Canteen celebrates six regional dining experiences and the people who shape them. It’s new. It’s relaxed. Join us at lunch for a delicious main course, shared side dish, bread and glass of wine. Meet top South Australian chefs and their front-of-house staff, trade stories and forge new connections.  

The Clare Valley’s Watervale Hotel takes inspiration from global flavours, but it’s local ingredients that shine on its seasonal menus. Critics have taken notice. The destination venue was named Best Hotel Restaurant of the Year 2023 in the global Corporate Livewire Awards – the only Australian entrant to win – and Best Culinary Experience in the world at LUXlife Magazine’s Travel and Tourism Awards 2023. 

Executive chef Nicola Palmer crafts dishes using organic, biodynamic produce from nearby Penobscot Farm, while sommelier Warrick Duthy offers wine from a selection of district labels. Together the pair, creative and poetic licensees respectively, will bring their renowned hospitality to Town Square Canteen. Taste nature in a dish sure to capture regional fare at its peak.

Our menus utilise regional produce at the height of its season and take months of careful planning. Many of the dishes featured will not be adaptable for particular dietary requirements. This event can cater to vegetarian, vegan and coeliac dietary requirements, although the menu may not be designed or executed by the visiting chefs.
