AU Iconic – Ed Carr, House of Arras
Wed 13th May 2026 at 4:30 PM
Authentic, unique & iconic, Adelaide University presents four alumni winemakers who are responsible for a momentous collection of Australia’s most important and highly-regarded wines. Collectively, Ed Carr at House of Arras, Peter Gago at Penfolds, Jeffrey Grosset at Grosset Wines and Sue Hodder at Wynns Estate have done so much to shape and define the contemporary face of great Australian wine.
Join Australia’s most awarded sparkling winemaker Ed Carr for an exclusive masterclass celebrating craft, character and effervescence.
Over 90 minutes, guests will enjoy an immersive tasting that unpacks the artistry and precision behind Australia’s finest sparkling wines.
Carr founded The House of Arras in 1995, recognising the potential of Tasmania’s pristine cool climate, maritime influence and ancient soils to produce sparkling wine. Today, House of Arras produces Tasmania’s most highly prized sparkling wines, crafted with exquisite fruit and traditional method winemaking techniques.
Carr will be joined in conversation by celebrated wine personality Nick Stock and acclaimed Associate Professor Paul Grbin Adelaide University Head Winemaker based at the Waite Campus. This is a rare opportunity to experience Ed Carr’s mastery up close through taste and storytelling – with cheese to nibble on along the way.
