Africola chef Duncan Welgemoed will star in this ode to all things barbecue. Marion Cultural Centre is hosting an evening of bites, drinks and open-flame cooking appreciation.
The acclaimed Welgemoed is set to share stories and inspiration from his new book Cooking with Fire: a love letter to barbecue culture that includes juicy grilled steaks, succulent ribs, ember-roasted eggplant and even a pina colada cake. A guide to Australia’s best outdoor cooking spots features too, highlighting regional specialties and the spirit of adventure.
This Tasting Australia event will take place at the Marion Cultural Centre Plaza and feature Welgemoed in a lively conversation with food identity, Mandy Hall. Discover his barbecue philosophy, journey across Australia and the inspiration behind his dishes.
Whether you’re a seasoned barbecue enthusiast or just starting out, the night is sure to spark your passion for open-flame cooking. Guests will be treated to a selection of canapés inspired by the flavours from Cooking with Fire, alongside a choice of wines from local favourite Patritti and craft beer from Little Bang Brewery who will also join us to share insights into their ranges of beverages.
