Slow Food at Otherness

Thu 8th May 2025 at 6:30 PM

$195

Barossa wine bar Otherness will honour traditions from Italy’s Slow Food movement in a special dinner paired with Piedmont and local wines.

The Angaston venue – recently named a Gourmet Traveller Wine Bar of the Year finalist – features three standout chefs: Sam Smith, Emily Thomas and Sandor Palmai. This Tasting Australia event will see Thomas draw on her time working near the Italian town of Bra, birthplace of Slow Food, and collaborate with Smith and Palmai on a menu that reflects the relevance of Slow Food principles within contemporary, Australian, regional dining. The four-course menu will embrace social connections and celebrate the principles of rural cooking. Expect a focus on community, sustainability, seasonality and regionality: crucial tenets of the movement.

Otherness Wines proprietor Grant Dickson will complement the menu with an exploration of wines from both near and far.
