A world away might actually be thirty minutes from the city. A ribbon of freeway leads to The Lane, tucked just three kilometres from historic Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills. It’s here head chef Tom Robinson shapes menus celebrating the harmony between food and wine. Broad experience guides his work, with a formative stint in Japan followed by time at Adelaide fine diner Auge. Cooking alongside Colin Fassnidge at Sydney’s Four in Hand was a chance to further hone a signature style. 

Today Robinson is among the most accomplished chefs working in South Australian wine country – one proud to support emerging talent while still at the very top of his game.
