A world away might actually be thirty minutes from the city. A ribbon of freeway leads to The Lane, tucked just three kilometres from historic Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills. It’s here head chef Cameron Ahl shapes menus celebrating the harmony between food and wine. His experience spans a string of celebrated South Australian kitchens: Penfolds Magill Estate, the d’Arenberg Cube and Leigh Street Wine Room among them.  

Ahl joined The Lane Vineyard as senior sous chef in 2020 and has been instrumental in crafting an experience deeply connected to the winery, local produce and the immersive dining experience that defines this regional drawcard. Now leading the kitchen at The Lane, he continues to drive South Australian cuisine forward with a focus on sustainability and innovation, always guided by a deep love for his craft.
