The Market will come alive for Tasting Australia, with free live cooking demonstrations celebrating local flavour, seasonal produce and showstopping dishes from some of South Australia’s finest chefs and food personalities (as well as a free self-guided audio tour).
Hosted by Mandy Hall, the 15 May line-up features:
Billie Justice Thomson - 4pm
Billie is a mid-career visual artist, whose work memorialises common objects, iconic Australian imagery, drinks and food. While best known for her joyful depictions of negronis, oysters, smiley fritz and more, it’s no surprise that Billie is also an avid cook who enjoys treating her friends and family to mouthwatering home-cooked dishes, crafted with produce fresh from local producers.
Rose Adam - 5.30pm
Growing up in her father's fruit and veg business, Rose's love of food started early. On Masterchef, she solidified her love of food and cooking, since pursuing a long-held dream to open a Middle Eastern-inspired cafe, The Middle Store. There, she shares her passion for homely Lebanese food and hospitality, basing her menu on memories of childhood meals and family gatherings.
Andre Ursini - 7pm
With a culinary career spanning over 18 years, Andre Ursini developed his passion for the Italian table from a young age. After competing in the inaugural season of MasterChef Australia, Andre went on to lead the acclaimed Andre’s Cucina & Polenta Bar, before opening ORSO, Willmott’s Gastronomia, Lost Phoenix Farm and the enigmatic and evocative Villetta Porcini.
