Modern food and drink pairing, how hops influence beer, sommelier secrets and winemaking basics are in the spotlight. Come with questions and leave inspired.

Sydney-based Caitlyn Rees, wine director of Fratelli Paradiso, will break down the basics alongside former chef turned sommelier and wine communicator Cyndal Petty. It’s all on the table as these two industry leaders offer their intel, including how restaurant sommeliers can elevate your next night out. 

The multi award-winning Rees – a former Gourmet Traveller Sommelier of the Year – has worked across Sydney’s most sought-after venues, from Fred’s and Momofuku Seiobo to Felix Bistro and Mary’s Group. She’s among a new wave of somms combining their broad knowledge with a fun, fresh approach – including an open mind on unconventional matches. 

Petty lives in Margaret River, writing for multiple publications and reviewing for Winepilot along with television and event appearances. This hopeless romantic for wine champions its capacity for connection, reminding us that perfection is never the point.
