Masterclass - Clare Valley: Young & Fresh vs Aged & Elegant

Two contrasting winemaking talents, Neil Paulett of Paulett Wines, a respected Clare Valley icon and Marnie Roberts of Matriarch & Rogue, a rising next-generation star, the event explores the evolution of Riesling through a guided side-by-side tasting of six exceptional wines: three youthful, vibrant current releases and three complex, beautifully aged vintages.

Designed as a “battle of the generations,” the masterclass invites guests to explore how Riesling transforms over time, with commentary that blends technical insight, storytelling, banter and differing perspectives. It’s not just about taste, it’s about perception, legacy and the shifting preferences of wine lovers across eras.

To deepen the experience, each wine is paired with a carefully selected cheese designed to enhance its character and reveal new dimensions. These small pairings act as flavour cues rather than a meal, sharpening the tasting experience and encouraging conversation.
