De Boer accrued his stripes at breweries around the globe including Oskar Blues, Modus Operandi and White Bay Brewing Co., which he co-founded in 2019. Along with his laid-back demeanour, he embodies the four essentials of brewing excellence: grace under pressure, process prowess, creative flair and an obsession with quality. As Pirate Life’s innovation brewer de Boer continues to help shape the industry, one delicious pint at a time.
O’Callaghan’s journey with Pirate Life began eight years ago at the founding brewery in Hindmarsh, and it's been one hell of a ride. From hospitality, tours and experiences to creating the ‘PL tone’ through photography and prose, there isn’t a corner of the business he hasn’t touched. When he’s not spearheading the brand’s creative vision, you’ll find him in the cellar with the brewers, mentoring venue crew, or connecting with punters over a cold one.
