We’ll drive. You relax. This all-inclusive new journey will share McLaren Vale at its best.

Chef Karena Armstrong and Selina Kelly of Bondar Wines invite you to eat, drink and explore during a full-day road trip in celebration of provenance. Begin with a visit to acclaimed local winery Ministry of Clouds, with founders Bernice Ong and Julian Forwood to share stories and their winemaking philosophy.

Next is The Salopian Inn, Armstrong’s restaurant, where technical nous meets comfort across a mod-Oz menu shaped by culinary adventure. Tour its private kitchen garden and discover how the shifting seasons are an enduring inspiration.
 
The family-run Nomad Farms – not usually open to the public – will welcome guests for lunch. See the source of Tom and Verity Bradman’s acclaimed pasture-raised produce, and how animals’ natural movement patterns sustain the property. A meal from Armstrong is set to be paired with local wine.

There will be time afterwards to visit the Bosworth Wines cellar door in Willunga for a Battle of  Bosworth tasting and a selection of artisan Lilyarra cheeses made with goat milk from Fleurieu Peninsula dairies, plus the chance to sample whisky courtesy of district neighbours McLaren Vale Distillery.  

Zip back to the city after time with some of McLaren Vale’s quieter heroes – people who harness its remarkable abundance to work their magic.  

ITINERARY –

  • Meet at Adelaide Marriott Hotel 
  • Travel to Ministry of Clouds 
  • Ministry of Clouds – Wine tasting and talk with the winemakers over a snack 
  • Travel to the Salopian Inn 
  • The Salopian Inn – Enjoy a snack during a garden tour with chef Karena Armstrong, followed by a beverage and further snack 
  • Travel to Nomad Farms 
  • Nomad Farms – Tour chicken and breeding coops with the producer 
  • Farm-style lunch (mains, sides and dessert) with paired beverages in the farm shed 
  • Travel to Bosworth Wines cellar door
  • Bosworth Wines cellar door – talk with the producers while enjoying a Bosworth wine tasting, McLaren Vale Distillery whisky tasting, and shared platter including Lilyarra cheese. 
  • Return journey to Adelaide
