Guided Coffee Cupping Session: From Commodity to Specialty

Sun 17th May 2026 at 11:00 AM

$20

Join My Kingdom for a Horse Coffee and Southland Merchants for an interactive guided coffee cupping experience as part of Tasting Australia.

This one-hour session introduces the fundamentals of professional coffee tasting, also known as ‘cupping’  the method used by coffee professionals around the world to evaluate coffee quality.
Participants will explore the differences between everyday commodity coffee commonly found on supermarket shelves and traceable specialty coffee sourced through sustainable relationships with producers. Through side-by-side tasting, we will also examine how different roast levels  light, medium, and dark  influence flavour, aroma, body and overall cup profile.

Guests will taste five to six coffees and be guided through the basic principles of coffee evaluation including aroma, acidity, sweetness, body and aftertaste.

Whether you are a curious coffee drinker or an aspiring coffee enthusiast, this session offers a deeper understanding of what goes into the coffee we drink every day.
