Fleurieu Peninsula

Sun, surf and seriously good wine – there’s a lot to love about the Fleurieu Peninsula. It’s just 40 minutes from Adelaide and includes McLaren Vale, home to more than 80 vineyards and diverse restaurants (Tasting Australia co-festival director Karena Armstrong’s The Salopian Inn among them). A day in this special pocket of the state might begin with a brew at Dal Mare Coffee Roastery, Kicco Espresso or Mullygrub, followed by a visit to the gorgeous Port Willunga (famous for both its beach and Star of Greece restaurant) and lunch at Chalk Hill Wines – where gin and wine feature – or Pizzateca.
