A bottle of bubbles is there for all our big life wins – celebrations cued with every popped cork. Searching for the most fabulous fizz? We’ve found it. Masterclass host Sam Taylor will be joined by André Heuston Mack, Mathilde Tytgat and Kate Laurie. 

It’s apt that Mack, an award-winning American sommelier and winemaker, will feature here. From the very start of his career – launched after leaving finance to pursue a passion – this trailblazer insisted that wine should be fun and accessible, a way to enhance meals and life. That means references from the worlds of music and pop culture, a love for conversation and a knack for finding the best bottles. 

Tytgat, meanwhile, is sommelier at French-inspired Adelaide restaurant A Prayer for the Wild at Heart, championing organic and biodynamic producers across a carefully curated selection recently named the nation’s best in the Australian Wine List of the Year Awards.  

Adelaide Hills label Deviation Road is where Laurie makes her mark, working with its cool climate and altitude to craft an elegant range. Sparkling is the flagship, made with the traditional methods Laurie honed while training in Champagne. 

Taylor is based at Mitcham’s Edinburgh Cellars, bringing a passion for all things vinous together with expertise gained from his viticulture and oenology degree, three years as a winemaker at Sidewood and a new foray into Adelade Hills nebbiolo.
