It’s time to meet the most exciting labels right now. Eleven producers will feature in this joyful exploration, and no prior knowledge is needed.
We’ll cover the following wine regions and labels:
McLaren Vale:
- L’Anima, made by Michael Williams from four climate-appropriate varieties
- Oria-Riff, where winemaker Cooper Davis-Draper draws on work across Australia, France and Canada
- Mighty Isle, based in a tiny Aldinga shed and helmed by Guy Palmer-Brown and Tania Davey
Adelaide Hills:
- Cain Wines, made by Rob Cain from grapes sourced across the region
Barossa:
- Agricola Vintners, where Callum Powell builds on his family’s storied local history
- Phase Three Wines from Ben and Sabina Kelley, whose range includes the lauded Dero
Clare Valley
- Gertie, made by Ben Marx with small parcels of cabernet franc and riesling from two regional sites
Victoria
- Prater, led by former Shaw + Smith senior winemaker Matt Large
Cross-region:
- LVDO, made by Marcell Kustos from McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills grapes
- Bande Apart Wines, led by Jess DiGiorgio in celebration of cool, expressive sites in South Australia and Victoria
