Africola 'Wild Harvest'
Ecological pressure meets culinary possibility in dishes featuring overabundant land animals and carefully sourced seafood. We’re talking Murray carp, Paroo kangaroo and Coorong mullet, plus veggie-driven options like slow-cooked eggplant and house fries.

A regenerative and fisheries-supporting food activation for South Australia
Africola Canteen 'Wild Harvest' is a sustainability driven festival food concept that transforms ecological pressure into culinary possibility. The activation focuses on invasive and overabundant land animals and on undervalued, responsibly harvestable seafood species. It is designed to support ecosystem repair and to assist South Australian fishers whose livelihoods are impacted by harmful algae bloom events that have affected commercial fishing activity in parts of the state.
This is not a novelty stall. It is a climate aware, solution focused and deeply place based food experience. It invites festival audiences to discover how eating differently can help restore environmental balance while strengthening regional and coastal communities and livelihoods.
