Matchmakers - Fun White

Meet your match in these casual tastings. Each features a diverse lineup of winemakers from South Australia and further afield, ready to chat all things variety, vintage and very excellent vino. Treat it like speed dating: five minutes in conversation, then a chance to strike up a chat elsewhere.   

Ever browse bottle shop shelves and feel a little lost? There’s a whole lot of white wine out there. We’re here to point you in fun new directions – to alternate varieties and the producers making some of Australia’s most exciting white wines.  

A host of zesty varieties are set to share spotlight. Chat with Matt Large from Praeter Wine over tastings of pecorino, learning about the parcels of fruit he works with in Australia and Italy. Yarra Valley winemaker Ben Haines will share roussanne, with chenin blanc courtesy of Adam Wadewitz (Shaw + Smith, MMAD and Elderslie Wines).   
 
Gourmet Traveller Sommelier of the Year Caitlin Baker of Canberra’s Such and Such will be on hand to share her favourite skinsy international picks, with semillon courtesy of Barossa label Eperosa. 

Sip vermentino from Langhorne Creek’s Bremerton alongside winemaking sisters Rebecca and Lucy Wilson, with fiano from McLaren Vale winery Gemtree and grenache blanc poured by winemaker Riley Harrison.
